Abroad

First of all, stay calm and take the necessary safety precautions at the scene of the accident. Place your accident sign triangle (or other sign) at a sufficient distance to direct incoming traffic.

If you have an accident which should be reported to the Police, according to the legislation of the country please inform the police without delay.

If there is no need for the police to issue a police report, please fill in the European Accident Statement/Constat Amiable. The European Accident Statement is a statement about the circumstances of the accident, where both parties' personal and vehicle information are recorded. Make sure that a copy is given to you and that you understand what the other party has written. 1213/5000

If requested, give to the other party information and documents related to your insurance and driver's license and other information.

If necessary, request an interpreter from the relevant authorities.

If you have been arrested due to an accident call the Consulate or Embassy of the Republic of Turkey.

If you have become involved in the accident as a driver, please inform the company you work for or the Bureau upon your return to the country.

The Green Card Insurance is liability insurance and if you damage someone else in a traffic accident, the Green Card will compensate the victim. It does not cover own damage of the insured vehicle. If you have been damaged in a traffic accident abroad caused by a vehicle insured with a turkish Green Card you can submit your claim directly to the Turkish Motor Insurers' Bureau.

After filling and signing the application form and adding the necessary documents you can submit your claim by cargo to our address ‘’ Turkish Motor Insurers’ Bureau, Büyükdere Cad. Oya Sok. Devran Apt. No: 2/1 Gayrettepe / Istanbul " or by e-mail to tmtb@tmtb.org.tr.( (You will be asked to send the original documents later by cargo if you have sent first by e-mail).
